Your role
We’re hiring a Cap Table Operations Lead, a young lawyer ready to trade BigLaw for building, an operational and legal mind who loves structure, data, and precision.
You'll use your legal training in the most tangible way possible: translating SAFEs, stock plans, and financing docs into the onchain infrastructure that powers modern equity.
This isn't legal review. It's legal architecture. You'll define how ownership actually works in the onchain era and participate in building the best AI agent for cap tables.
What you'll own
- Manage onboarding, reconciliation, and validation of client cap tables
- Enhance AI engine to parse and structure SAFEs, equity grants, board resolutions, and financing docs into clean, OCF-based data
- Shape the standards themselves. You'll be a core contributor to the open-source protocols (Open Captable Format) that define how equity is represented, structured, and governed onchain. Your legal insights will directly influence the infrastructure the entire industry builds on
- Operate Fairmint's cap table engine and work with the engineering team to automate legal workflows
- Assist support team alongside founders, investors, and outside counsel to ensure legal and technical alignment
What we're looking for
- JD required, with 1-4 years of corporate or transactional experience (firm, in-house, or legal ops)
- Fluency in venture financings, cap tables, SAFEs, and equity compensation
- Technically curious, comfortable with spreadsheets, APIs, and structured data (we'll teach you the rest)
- Experience with cap table tools is a major plus
- Meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication, and zero tolerance for errors
- Must be based on the US East Coast and authorized to work in the US
You'll turn law into code. Every cap table you facilitate moving onchain becomes the foundation of how modern ownership works.
